Fit for Chicken à la King


Loaded with vegetables, this easy version of chicken à la king will satisfy your appetite and your taste buds.

ingredients

  • 8 ounces (225 g) whole wheat pasta 
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts 
  • 2 cups (200 g) celery, chopped 
  • 1 cup (160 g) onion, chopped 
  • 2 cups (260 g) peas 
  • 1 cup (150 g) green bell pepper, chopped 
  • 2 cups (142 g) broccoli florets 
  • 1 can (10 3/4 ounces, or 305 g) low sodium cream of mushroom soup

preparation
  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Cut chicken breasts into small cubes and brown in a nonstick pan and set aside. Chop vegetables and sauté until they just start to turn soft. Add the mushroom soup and one can of water to the vegetables. Add the chicken and cook until chicken is done. Add the pasta and heat through.
